S-Wines
The grapes for our S-Wines are grown on the pure, weathered volcanic and basalt soils of the Kaiserstuhl. These rocky subsoils are veined with grandiose calcareous seams which lend unique minerality and structure to these wines. This particular soil structure is unique in Europe. Strictly limited yields achieved by bunch-halving, vuneyard selection and careful vinification ensure that only the most expressive fruit from volcanic Kaiserstuhl soils is harvested year after year in order to then mature elegantly in small wooden barrels.

Soft tannins surrounded with expressive fruit aromas of plum and black cherry (reduced yield, long maceration), tender vanilla and smoky wood notes (maturation in barrique at 12°C in our mountain cellar) create the harmony within our Pinot Noir "S". Suited to braised and roast meats, game, cheese. -

RS, TA13,0; 1,5g/l, 5,4g/l Tasting Note Blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, deep and luminous colour (reduced yield) , aromas of green capsicum and cherry (fermentation on skins) with well-integrated tannins with an intense but soft finish. Recommended drinking age 4-6 years. Works well with game, roast meats, robust sauces, cheese.
