In 1806 the estate passed to the painter John Lewis Brown who had married into the Boyd family who called the bigger part of the estate Chateau Cantenac Brown. In 1840 Brown went bankrupt and had to concede his vineyards under the name Boyd to banks. Twenty years later Armand Lalande bought the smaller part of the estate and ran it under the name Chateau Boyd Cantenac. Over the years it became home of several families like the Segur. Salignac, and the La Vergne. In the 17th century followed Chevalier d´Essennault who at that time was ambassador of the parliament in Bordeaux. He renovated the estate and built the old Chateau and also gave it the name "Issan". In 1945 the Cruse family took over the Chateau and brought out the full potential of the estate which is today run by Emmanuel and Marguerite´s heirs. Drinking Age 5-20 years after harvest

After serveral ownership changes the estate was acquired by the schröder&Schyler company in 1925. Yann, Natalie and Sophie Schyler run the estate. To keep the estate at the cutting edge the Schylers engaged the expertise of the oenologists Michel Rolland and Jacques Boissenot. The vineyards were first mentioned in 1332 under the name of the Gorce family who owned it then. The estate was split up after the French Revolution and the part that today is called Chateau Labegorce came into the possession of the Weltener-Vastapani family. The Chateau was built in 1821. Fortune Beaucourt took the estate over in 1865 and it was he who invested a lot of money into viticulture and the quality of the wine. Today the estate is owned by Hubert Perrodo. Between 1880 and 1955 the Chateau had five owners in total, all of which had to abandon the estate due to phylloxera or wars. The then owner, Monsieur de Rauzan, a lawyer at the Bordeaux law courts not only asked for Monsieur d´Argicourt´s counsel (he has the owner of Chateau Margaux) but also bought his seedlings there. The estate has been owned by the Quie family since 1943. The vineyards are on sandy gravel soils. The famous professor Emile Peynaud used to consult here.
