A rendezvous between France and Baden

The Schwarzer Adler has been the acme of Baden gastronomic culture for decades.  The house has held a Michelin Star since 1969 without interruption.  The wine menu comprising more than 2400 items is legendary and was voted Germany’s best in 2008 by gourmet guide „Der Metternich“.

Elegance, style and hospitality with a perceptible French influence create an unmistakeable ambiance at our Restaurant Schwarzer Adler.  In the kitchens of master chef Anibal Strubinger and Hubert Pfingstag nearby France is as present as the much-lauded local Baden cuisine.  The combination of both these influences at the very highest level forms the culinary character of the house.
The wine list provides a wide choice of matching wines from all over the world.  Amongst them are a multitude of fine Bordeaux and Burgundy wines from prestigious chateaux with often extraordinary libraries of vintages.  By the way, our wine list has not only won countless accolades for its unusually wide selection of precious bottles but also for its remarkable value-for-money listings.
